PORE!SCAN
The simple and quick optical analysis of porous materials
Whether used in construction for thermal insulation, in automotive bodywork, or in research and development – porous materials have one thing in common: their internal cell structure significantly impacts product quality, as it fundamentally determines their physical properties.
To ensure that products meet the highest standards, reliable foam structure analysis is essential. It allows users to compare the quality of various foam samples produced under different process conditions. Parameters such as cell density, cell sizes and their distribution, and the pore surface area on a cut foam sample can be determined. The underlying geometric dimensions for describing foam structures are used for qualitative and quantitative comparisons of different products.
Innovative Measurement and Analysis Method for Quality Assurance
Both 2-D and 3-D methods can be used for cell structure analysis. As a specialist in industrial image processing and in designing and implementing measurement and analysis techniques, Goldlücke GmbH, in collaboration with foam manufacturers, has developed a system for the optical cell analysis of plastic foams. With this system, cell structures can be identified in a digital image that is captured with direct lighting, preprocessed using filters, and segmented into cell walls and pores.
Together with our clients, we develop reliable solutions based on this system, tailored to individual customer needs and designed to secure long-term competitive advantages. Learn more in a personal consultation – we look forward to hearing from you.
